After playing Portal for wayyyy too long, I decided I needed a screen saver version of the cake recipe seen on various computer monitors in the back-stage areas of Aperture Science.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a decent one out there for Mac, so I built my own in Quartz Composer. It should (in theory) work on any Mac running OS 10.6 or later, and is totally resolution independent (so it shouldn't get all pixelated on high-resolution displays).

Options include the ability to toggle video noise effects, vignetting effects, the scroll-y tv artifact thingy, and adjust the overall hue if amber isn't for you.

Please feel free to share this around and tweak it, as long as you include attribution and a link back to this page. If you spot any errors in the recipe text, please let me know!

PS: There's an error in the readme file. To install, you'll have to copy the quartz composer file (the .qtz file) to YOUR_HOME_FOLDER/Library/Screen savers/
